How it works
Learn Spanish just by reading
Classic stories that start in English and add more Spanish every chapter.
Step 1
Start in English
The first chapter reads like any classic novel, with just a few Spanish words in gold so they stand out.
Step 2
Pick it up from context
Each word is explained the first time you meet it, then it keeps coming back until you just know it.
Step 3
Finish in Spanish
By the final chapters you’re reading whole pages in Spanish. Same story, same characters, new language.
How it reads
English first, then more Spanish every chapter.
Each book is a classic story, adapted for language learners. Chapter one reads almost entirely in English. Then Spanish words, phrases and whole sentences take over, until the last chapters read in Spanish. You never stop to look anything up: the story teaches you as you go.
Chapter 1
The casa was quiet, and their mother had gone out.
Chapter 10
Jo looked at her hermanas and smiled with her whole corazón.
Chapter 25
Every día the amigos met en la cocina.
Final chapters
Las cuatro hermanas se sentaron juntas junto al fuego.
Every Spanish word comes with help
The first time a word appears, you get the English and a simple pronunciation guide: a lion (león leh-OHN) lay asleep in the forest (bosque BOHS-keh).
After that, the word comes back again and again, so you remember it without flashcards.
Hola. Tomates… rojos… ¿dos kilos?Hi. Tomatoes… red… two kilos?
¡Muy bien! ¿Algo más?Very good! Anything else?
No, gracias. Bueno… sí. ¿Pan?No, thanks. Well… yes. Bread?
